The
property has now been sold, and Barbara Sciaretta is ready to
reinvent Brant's in a new location. "There is so much potential
for great things the store can bring to the community," Barbara
says.
We
have a chance to help this local treasure stay alive and be reborn
in a new location. Sciarretta wants stay in the city and has
plans to integrate local music and art, healthy food, book clubs,
education groups, open mic nights, poetry readings, book signings,
and much more at her new facility.
We
are still working on trying to get the financing together to
reopen Brant's in a new location, so keep checking back for
updates! Hopefully we will have good news soon! And of
course, please let us know if you see a great location, for
sale-that you think might be perfect for our new
store .
This
year will be the first in recent memory without a Downtown Reading
Festival. For $1 - $3 per book you can be a part of revitalizing
literature in our community. With over 200,000 books in storage
just waiting for their new home, including rare editions and
out of print books, Brant's is one of Florida's largest used
bookstores. Can we afford to lose such a community treasure?
...
It's important to realize we are not just disappearing. So check
back for news of our NEW location!! :-) Have an Idea for our
new location? Contact
